Writing / Acting / Everything-ing Opportunity Page 2

Well, looks like you collated some interest. :)

Depends what you're looking for but I might be interested. I've done a little bit, and I do mean a little bit, of corporate script-writing before and even appeared in a corporate safety training video as a favour, so I have some fair knowledge of how these things work... Rolling eyes

Hey Nick as I am a writer and you are a company, but you can't write and I don't have any company infrastructure how about you send me a stenographer, with paper, printer cartridges, envelopes etc for a month - some of the time we'll work on stuff for you and the other we'll work on a stage play that I have wanted to dictate for a long time?

He wants a lady that will "take" *ahem* "dictation" ..it's a likely tale, ain't it? Laughing out loud

Well I was serious about my offer. Quid pro quo as my father the lawyer used to say to streetwalkers.

Laughing out loud Knew streetwalkers would come into this!

Cheers Nick, I have no preference on hair colour. My ideal would be more like Mary Tyler Moores character from Thoroughly Modern Millie rather than Julie Andrews and I am not really too bothered about WPM. In this game it's quality not quantity that counts and a nice smile.

Thoroughly Modern Millie, indeed! Laughing out loud

If any writer does this they are devaluing their own profession.

and even appeared in a corporate safety training video as a favour,

A favour? A small, decorative wedding gift.

To Nic S,

I am tied up on a lot of projects already where I make little or no money, so I'll pass I reckon as I must find a way to eat soon!

But it's always nice to get an offer of unpaid or low paid work, because then you don't feel like you've lost anything when you can't afford to do it!

Getting well paid for your efforts is one of lifes great mysteries, ain't it?!

Anyways, good luck with your project!

Don't forget to remind your client, who is obviously the last of the big spenders, that "Best Quality, Lowest Price" is really the only way to go! Oh, and have they thought about marketing yet? Phone boxes clearly aren't what they were but public loos still offer opportunities of sorts! Also, they can create a useful marketing budget simply by making a few loyal and trustworthy staff redundant and this is usually best done just before Christmas..

Love and grats,

Frankie xxx ;)

The Scottish Falsetto Sock Puppet Theatre. They're up for anything.

A lot of writers do jobs such as this as a way to get one's name about.

Same as actors really. A lot of big actors started off in training vids, as do writers. After all, someone's gotta write 'em.

I write for free for myself.

I am not writing for free for other people.

Damn the vicar that had me writing for free for his parish magazine!

But this opportunity may well lead somewhere for someone. Who knows what wonderful things are dowm what appears at first to be a blind alley.. :)

On his website the guy says he sold his first company for nine million pounds. One of the ways to get rich is to make things for nothing and then sell them. Help him out.
