I've been trying my hand at writing stand-up material recently and it got me thinking about some old videos I made for youtube about a year ago. Basically just wondering what you lot think of them and also if any of the stuff in the videos is worth salvaging and mixing into a stand-up routine.

Sorry if you can't understand me, I have a tendency to mumble and apparently my accent makes it even harder. Also my delivery isn't the best but they were just a botched job I did out of boredom and to entertain a few friends.

Some good material, 'is that a gun or are you pleased to see me?' I loved, great tits is a throwaway line at best.

You could build a good routine from this I think.

I listened to the chav one, news headlines and death metal glorifying violence. I can't judge the accent mate as I am from Sheffield! But I think it adds to the delivery. You look the part of a stand up and the material is good-ish (at least). I liked some of the news headlines and the death metal one was good. Some of the chav one worked, some not so good (for me). All in all, I'd say you need to put a 5 min spot together of the best of it and give it a go! Thereafter, you'll refine your act until it works. I guess that's how they do it? Have you read this?

Thanks for the feedback guys. This isn't the only stuff I have to go off, I am writing some stuff meant for stand-up which I think is going pretty well. Just nice to know I can salvage some of the stuff from those videos because I knew there had to be something good in them somewhere. It's just a matter of working it into a stand-up routine I guess and seeing how it goes down.

I too liked the death metal one. Like the guys said, there is some good stuff there. And you do look like a stand-up - though i'd imagine talking into a webcam is a lot different to talking to a crowd.

In terms of the material, I think you would need to get the tits section tightened up.

However, the Oompa Loompa section if f**king excellent, like really bloody good.
