Hello my darlings - be kind this is my first posting. Does anyone have any material relating to Charlie Drake? Newspaper articles/reviews of his TV shows/films; photos; recordings of his TV shows (I have The Worker and The Plank). Love to hear from anyone about Charlie's work in children's TV, The Charlie Drake Shows, panto, film, and his later career as a dramatic actor.
Charlie Drake
Went to an antique & collectors' Fair today & picked up a signed montage of Charlie Drake related photos, etc for £15:

Amazingly good find!
And another name worthy of a place on the header !
Twelve years since anyone's thought of Charlie Drake?
Well he has an evening on BBC4 on Sunday (15th) starting at 8pm. A This is your Life, a show and an Arena.

Yes, saw that and wondered why? Anniversary of something? I think the Arena doc. is the one I burnt to DVD many years ago showing him living in a flat with his brother, and being a very bitter man as to how his life panned out.
Born on 19 June 1925 apparently. They could have waited until Thursday!

It is.
What a memory I've got!
I read somewhere that he liked his brides to be 17 and he blew his millions on horses and casinos.
Professor Popper's Problems was excellent. No it wasn't.
Wasn't he another one accused of thrusting himself where he wasn't wanted?
