So, so sorry to hear that DB - when I heard my father died I took it all matter of fact, but at the funeral I was a gibbering wreck and had to be half carried into the chapel by my mother and wife............................

Thanks, everyone. We're all doing ok. Made the funeral home visit (everything was prearranged), returned my rental car, had lunch and a beer, then packed up my dad's stuff at the nursing home. My mom is taking a nap, and friends keep stopping by with food and kind words.
Heading back to my mother's house after making a quick 100-mile drive to the Cape to watch a SpaceX Starlink launch. Always fun to experience.

I do like word puzzles. Particularly the quick crossword from the previous day's paper over my breakfast but have never attempted wordle although I know loads of others have.

About a month ago, whilst driving, I thought I could see better without my distance glasses, so thought I'd get my eyes checked out (which I have had trouble with for years!), prior to my 3 yearly DVLA eye test coming up at the end of this month
The optician confirmed that I could see better (not 100%) without my old distance glasses, but said she had heard of this before, which to me is very pleasing, but at the same time a bit weird!
