The deal was secured by Boris Johnson and was widely hailed as a triumph at the time.
Since then, the economy and our standing in the world has been severely damaged.

Sorry but only the top line of all that is right. I think the only slither of triumph about it was in the fact it was finally, finally completed. It was widely criticised by Brexiteers for giving way too much to the EU and was generally seen as an unhappy compromise by most.

Everyone's economy was damaged by Covid just as Brexit was completed, so you can't just blithely say ours alone was affected because of Brexit. Our economy was recovering and performing better than the EUs up until Labour came into power.

Our standing was damaged with the EU undoubtedly, but our standing with the USA rose because of Brexit and the EU's standing with the USA was severely damaged when Trump first came to power just after we'd voted to leave, so there's a bit of balance there. The EU did not come out smelling of roses, as you always like to portray. And I wouldn't worry too much about so called reputations, they are hugely overplayed by the media who just seize on every little thing to keep their outlets going.

The blame for little progress lies at least just as much with the vengeful EU as it does Brexit voters, and also the many bitter remain voters in positions of power in central and local government and business and the courts (like lefty lawyers) who are still trying their best to wreck their own country's progress and blame in onto Brexit! Good morning of course.

It is widely accepted that Brexit alone has weakened our economy by about 4%.
Literally nobody claims the economy has been strengthened by it or believes these fantasies about a hardcore group of Remainders working to sabotage the economy even today.
