I read the news today oh boy! Page 2,971

And of course Trump only surrounds himself with "the best people"

Like taking spiritual advice from nonces

Robert Morris, a founding pastor of Dallas-based Gateway church and one of Donald Trump's former spiritual advisers, admitted to religious publication the Christian Post on Saturday that he had been involved in "inappropriate sexual behavior" with a girl he inaccurately referred to as "a young lady" for several years, between 1982 and 1987, starting when she was 12.

But remember there's bucks to be made out of Jesus

Which is why he was flogging the "Trump Bible" for $59.99

USA! USA! USA!

I think he prefers something different for his bed time reading though

"In a 1990 interview, Mr. Trump said he had a copy of Hitler's "Mein Kampf," although his first wife Ivana Trump and the friend who gave him the book said it was actually "My New Order," a collection of Hitler speeches."

Absolutely fkn pathetic.....

President Trump: ""If for some reason one of the parties makes it very difficult, we're just gonna say, 'you're foolish, you fools, you horrible people' and we're gonna just take a pass. But hopefully, we won't have to do that."

Anyone want to bet that the difficult party won't be Russia, despite the fact that they've ignored the ceasefire proposal which Ukraine agreed to?

Side bet opportunity: Anyone want to bet that "taking a pass" will include not passing on intel and weapons to Ukraine? Trump's already done that once.

I wish I had the president's ear, because I could tell him how he could make good on the promise to end the war in 24 hours:

Demand that Putin stop the war immediately, or

1. We will send Ukraine any non-nuclear weapon they'd like, and there will be no restrictions on their lawful use.
2. If that doesn't work, we'll send NATO aircraft to enforce a no-fly zone within 50 miles of the border.
3. As a last resort, we'll deploy an airborne infantry division to protect Ukrainian cities and, if Russia is stupid enough to attempt an attack on them, we'll destroy the Russian air force and navy within the course of a week or two.

Putin only respects strength, and so far the American president has only exhibited signs of weakness in front of the Russians.

I thought he loved everybody.
Are you saying he's picky?
Impled no fingering....which book?
Probably revelations eh.

You're not even making sense anymore.
You might have to clarify.

Please Hazzard oh wise one, remind us all about no easter eggs in the bible again. I was sure I read Jesus scoffed a few before he was nailed to the cross.
Wasn't it a Smarties one?

You're weird.

This new "We're a Christian Country!" bollocks is all a bit disturbing.
Sound a lot like the beginning of A Handmaid's Tale if you ask me.

What's new about it though, they always have been, if you mean USA? They've never been shy about their faith or promoting it. Trump's lot are a bit prouder of it than Biden's lot obviously, but Christianity has always been a big player in their politics.

And so have we always been a Christian country, although our leaders do anything but endorse it, as evidenced this week by wokey Starmer and the King Charles Spaniel, who both appear to be ashamed of it. Roll on Farage as PM when we'll claw back some moral and spiritual pride to our nation. 💒🍺

Was Obama any stronger? he didn't do anything to stop them taking Crimea, which was the start of it all. And the real weak ones have been Europe, especially the EU who just give token sanctions while defunding their military.

This is a new isolationist America First admin now, so Putin knows he has a free hand to plunder neighbours unless Europe ramps up their commitment to defend their own instead of leaving it all to a non European country.

The majority of the country aren't Christian.
Last census had it at 42% (down 13%) - and a deal of those would have put C of E just out of sheer habit.
6% identify as practising Christians
Less than 2% are regular church goers.
37% put themselves down as 'no religion at all' - a group predicted to eclipse the professed 'Christain ' grouping before the next Census.
What the Right-wingers actually mean by Christian is White,

Will he be as great a PM as Liz Truss? She certainly restored a lot of pride to Britain. Hopefully he won't be quite as disastrous for the economy, although the signs don't look promising as he comes across as a bit of an economic nitwit.

Moral and spiritual pride?

Nigel Farage has praised the misogynist influencer Andrew Tate for being an "important voice" for the "emasculated"

That's Farage

Praising a man who is charged with multiple rapes and threats to kill

How very, very moral

How Christian

What utter bollocks you do spout

What the Right-wingers actually mean by Christian is White,

A lot of assumption there and 42% is still the largest portion. The number of regular church goers has indeed plummeted, but then so has the number of high street shoppers and the number of pub goers. We are a more stay at home nation now, largely due to the internet and many Christians stay connected through this and their own social networks. But it's actually on the rise, at the least the Catholic side of it is, with East Europeans filling out many urban RC churches now.

But this still misses the point that our whole establishment structure was built around a core of Christianity, so it doesn't matter how many more followers of another religion or non followers of any there are - Until the Crown officially converts to another religion or to atheism, we will be a Christian country, and quite right too.

And on the right wing thing some may mean that obviously, but many are also concerned more about the heritage, rather than the race. And in my own very rare stumblings into church, the people couldn't be further from the right. My nearest one is full of limp urban liberals who use it more as a village hall and a creche for their kids while feeling good about themselves for going, and mixing with other races in the community. You can be pretty sure they mostly voted Labour, with a few LibDems thrown in. 🤢

Odd then that it's the Right that are blathering on about the word Easter not appearing on chocolate eggs.

Frightening if so. And Muslims are increasing at an alarming rate with the Liberal elite doing all they can to help them. I can see Sharia Law coming inevitably.

How? - Well mainly because the Church told our Kings what to do and our people how to live for a thousand years or so, as you know. That and our whole social fabric being based on either a genuine reverence for God or real fear of him/her/them.

Easter on eggs - Proves my point that most church goers are too woolly to be bothered by it, while yes as I acknowledged, our right wing speakers are politicising Christianity for their own cause.
