As foreign countries go, the Republic of Ireland isn't all that foreign but it's foreign enough not to be British so I'm putting this in the 'foreign comedy' section.
I love 'Bridget and Eamon'. It's very Irish, very Catholic and very, very funny.

Thanks for the recommendation, I've just been reading about it and will check it out. The episode 'The Job' looks very promising.

I don't think you'll find it in any list of the top 10/20/50 sitcoms but for sheer funniness, it's up there with the best of them (for me).
