I read the news today oh boy! Page 2,222

Perhaps we should follow America's example?
Good for them!

The person I feel most sorry for is Melania cos she still has to bonk him. Imagine that thrashing and flailing around on top of you every night. No compromise, eh?

Ivanka seemed happier (and more amenable to politics), back in the day. A lot of airplay has been given to Ali G's feeble interview of Trump (he pitches a ludicrous business proposal of ice cream gloves, Trump isn't duped into responding with phony enthusiasm, so just gets up and leaves), yet much less attention has been given to Dame Edna's more adroit handling of Trump and Ivana on Wogan:

Some hysterical trump supporting woman on the news gave one of the reasons why she is so scared of a Biden presidency - "he wants to give everyone free healthcare!"

That BASTARD!!!!!

Yes, that's something I can't get my head around.Perhaps some student of USA politics could explain that one?

Perhaps some student of USA politics could explain that one?

The US spent 17.2% of its GDP on healthcare in 2016, compared with 9.7% in the UK. In pounds per head, that's £2,892 on healthcare for every person in the UK and £7,617 per person in the US (source the bbc.co.uk). There is a perception in America that it takes away choice and lowers the quality of healthcare. Also a concern it's a slip towards socialism.

The NHS does offer less but is far more cost effective than the American system because we don't have their transaction costs and administration burdens surrounding health insurances. From memory there's an average of around 21 transactions (medical and financial debates) to and fro, for each operation that takes place. In America patients, in part, drive what treatments are available , where as here in the UK that's done by medical experts and cost efficiencies. The NHS also has economies of scale, it's Europe's single biggest employer (1.2 million). Also the NHS only buys generic drugs, where are America get's the very latest. They say anecdotally we're 10 years behind with new treatments on average.

The thing is, Trump's inner circle didn't want any of that, as they weren't big on listening to medical experts. That will change under Biden as he's not playing games with peoples health.

Thankyou.

You can worry about there being a bed free to lapse in

I wonder how Trump will be remembered?
As the man who refused to accept his own defeat?
Who suggested people should drink bleach?
Who stopped funding to the world health organisation during a global pandemic?
Who mocked John McCain and other war veterans, living and dead?
Who was recorded recommending sexual assault?
As a one term president. And the worst US president there has ever been.

70 million voted for him.He will be remembered fondly by a lot.
Poor working class people who thought Washington did nothing for them.
They wanted someone from outside, unfortunately they got the awful Trump who was more interested in himself than them.

Talk about him running again in 2024....

Are you taking about football, sticking a helmet and shoulder pads on ? Americans love to accessories.

And Rounders.

I wonder if the fervent Trump-supporting gun-nuts will now come out to fight against the "stolen" election, or whether most will realize the moral and ethical folly of having been cheerleaders for the most un-statesmanlike US president in living memory. Good riddance to Trump's repellent style of toxicaly divisive ad hominem attacks, exploitation of racism and xenophobia, egregious lies, bullying behavior and grotesque incompetence, He has changed America for the worse. Time for Biden to try to make America "great" (more respected) again.

Do I take it from this that you don't like Trump?
