True, but she did write that really dirty sketch once.

What? where?? ;)

I'm wrapped in a blanket eating ham straight out of the packet.
Is this a euphemism?

It's not funny and it doesn't scan. Poetry is a great way to get a laugh, but drop the rhythm once and you're buggered.

As for the subject? Petty desperate. Anyway, I fear Teddy is his own worst enemy, and you'll never take that crown. :(

I'm wrapped in a blanket eating ham straight out of the packet.

An enigma wrapped in a mystery wrapped in a blanket eating ham from the packet.

What on gods green earth does this achieve? The guys gone for gods sake, sticking the knife in is just cowardly.

What were you expecting? That we'd all read it and think "brilliant, someone call carol Ann Duffy, there's a new poet in town!"

And at least he would reply to some honest and forthright critique !

Teddy was many things - but he wasn't a coward.

Here here.

The poor grammar put me off, so I couldn't get past the first few lines.

Yes, he was very specific on that point.

The poor scansion, spelling and punctuation were also barriers; though I enjoyed the unconscious irony.

bad gramma can be corrected but a bad imagination cannot, and Teddy has a great imagination

Bad grammar can be corrected.

If it helps.

And an imagination is something that can be devoloped. Sometimes by putting the blinkers on. Sometimes not.

When it comes to writing creativity and imagination should come first, there is spell check and formatting tools to do the rest. If you are not creative then even the best grammar in the world just won't cut it.

Sorry
Are we praising Teddy here or are we bullying Funy Haha
I've lost track of this thread now

Anyone remember that budding writer on here who didn't believe in grammar and punctuation and used the defence that language was evolving, wonder what happened to him?

He saw the light, changed his name to Aaron & the rest is history
