Shannon Matthews: The Musical... The Movie

Shannon Matthews: The Musical... The Movie

Shannon Matthews: The Musical... The Movie is an independent, true-crime, dark comedy musical film based on the events surrounding the disappearance of little Shannon Matthews, aged 9, in Dewsbury, Yorkshire in 2008.

Shannon Matthews: The Musical... The Movie showcases new alternative comedy at its anarchic best, casting Mother-from-Hell Karen Matthews as a classic sitcom lead in the vein of Brent, Fawlty, Barley and Tyrell - eccentric, delusional and odious but utterly compelling.

The language used is brutal and outrageous, while the dark humour of the plot, the staged kidnapping of Karen's daughter in an attempt to cash in on the reward money and the subsequent police search, is even more ridiculous and unbelievable for being based on real events. The whole shebang is punctuated with indefensible, toe-tapping earworms like Shannon Ain't Dead (She's Under My Bed), Different Dads and I've Got A Plan (Based On Maddie McCann). La La Land it most definitely is not.

Not in the UK?

Fear not! Many items can still be ordered. Amazon in the UK delivers to many international territories, whilst their Australia, USA and Canada stores also supply many equivalent or imported items.

If you are in the North America, look out for US/Canadian flag icons on popular product listings for direct links.

If you order from a UK store, please note that the UK is in Region 2 and B, respectively, for DVDs and Blu-rays - check your player's compatibility, or look for multi-region products if you are located in another region.

If you are in Australia or New Zealand (DVD Region 4), note that almost all DVDs distributed in the UK by the BBC and 2entertain are encoded for both Region 2 and Region 4. The UK and Australasia are in the same Blu-ray region (B).
