A new competition for acts performing in Edinburgh in August, featuring a £1,000 prize.
This new stand-up competition is billed as "featuring the very best comedians at the Edinburgh Fringe, all battling it out for the title of Edinburgh Fringe Comedian of the Year and a cash prize of £1,000".
All levels of comedian are eligible for entry. The heats - which will run across August at the Three Sisters venue - have capacity to allow 108 acts to take part in the competition.
The organisers - Will Mars and Gemma Atkins of Need To Know Comedy - explain: "Every night will showcase six comedians performing their best stand-up for a chance of progressing to the prestigious finals. Live audiences will help choose our heat winners and our shows will all be released on YouTube the following day so audiences around the world can vote their favourite comedians through to the wildcard round (acts with the most online votes from the heats will win one of seven wildcard berths in the finals)."
Reward
There'll be a single cash prize of £1,000 for the overall winner. "There will be only one winner. No ties. No shared prizes."
How to enter
You should submit a link to a 5 minute video of you performing via the online application form (longer videos will be accepted but only the first 5 minutes will be used for selection/review).
