Short Com launches script competition

Short Com

Short Com, the comedy screening organisation, has announced its first ever script competition.

They say: "Having screened some of the funniest short comedy films for several years by emerging comedy film-making talent to audiences and industry alike, we are now looking to unearth comedic writing talent to help kick-start their writing career."

Short Com is looking for scripts between 23 and 30 pages that show "solid sitcom ideas, great writing, and plenty of humour that shows wide audience appeal."

The competition has lined-up Lucy Lumsden (Yellow Door), producer Jon Aird, writer Mia Ylönen and Toby Smith (Baby Cow) to judge the scripts.

The deadline to enter is 1st July.

The Early Bird entry fee - which ends 3rd April - is £30. BCG Pro members get £5 off. If you're a member, see Opportunities Hub for the code.

All entries will receive one page of feedback, but it is possible to purchase extended feedback.
