A series of monthly events in London, Medway, Brighton, Birmingham, Bristol and Manchester. A mix of networking/mentoring meet-ups and open mic nights.
Monthly meet-up events: Informal networking, fun and games, plus first-hand advice from visiting experts who've all 'been there, done that' in some capacity. "We all know how challenging it can be to embark on a new interest and potential career so these events are designed to take out the overwhelm and connect you with other likeminded female and non-binary comedy performers, writers and creators."
Open mic nights: This is a showcase event offering female and non-binary performers vital stage time, whether it's their first time on stage or they are a more established act looking for 'A Safe Place' to try out new material. "The line-ups include comedians from a range of countries, skill levels and comedy styles - so you never know what to expect! The hosts will be part of The Glitter Project mentoring team, who will also be available to give advice both to performers and even audience members around their comedy aspirations."
Funny Women say: "We've been supporting and developing new comedy talent at grassroots with ground-breaking Awards, workshops, courses and open mic events for over 20 years. The priority is to build confidence in female and non-binary performers, writers and creators to give them the opportunity to pursue comedy careers."
