Entry is now open for the London-based 2Northdown New Act Competition, with heats set to kick off in September 2022.
London venue 2Northdown has launched its fourth New Act Competition, with heats set to kick off in September 2022.
Heats will run from 5th September to 31st October, with semi-finals on the 14th and 21st November, leading up to the Grand Final on 28th November.
Applicants must be 18+, must not have been performing regularly for more than 5 years, must not yet have made their full-length Edinburgh Fringe debut and must have at least 10 minutes of original material.
The organisers say: "After the success of last year's competition with the victory of the amazing and super talented Dee Allum (pictured), we can't wait to see what this year brings! Last year we had over 300 applications so apply quickly! The competition is open to all types of comedy acts, with sketch, character and alternative acts being encouraged to apply."
Reward
The winner's prize includes £500, a paid spot on one of 21Soho's monthly nights and a free hour long preview at 2Northdown. The runner up will also win a paid spot and free hour long preview.
Selection process
Acts are scored on their writing; performance; star quality; originality and innovation. The comedians ranked highest by both the audience and panel of industry judges will progress to the next stage.
