The House, Episode 1: "Amicable Divorce"

The first episode of our original sitcom is now available to listen to. This is something of a milestone for BCG Pro - we haven't put together a project like this before. Our hope is that members will be enthused by the results and keen to contribute to the next script.

It's very important when contributing to any open door show - be it The House or Breaking The News or DMs Are Open or anything else - that prospective contributors actually listen to the programme.

Getting the style and tone right is crucial. If you're off-target, you will not be successful.

Furthermore, producers can tell when a writer hasn't listened to the show. Don't be that writer. It just makes the difficult task of securing credits even more difficult.

When contributing to a sitcom, mastering the characters is key.

In The House, we have three characters - Lucy (Ilaria Passeri), Zarah (Zoe Iqbal) and Billy (Joseph Stacey).

Each is different, at a different life stage, with different wants and needs.

A story idea or joke that fits Lucy probably wouldn't fit Zarah. Billy, meanwhile, allows us to explore contemporary culture in a heightened way. He is a slightly wilder character, and you can be a bit wilder with him.

Later in the week, we'll have more from co-creator and producer Micheál Jacob about the precise process for contributing, at which point the window for the first round of contributions will open.

But, for now, listen to Episode 1 of The House here:
