All comedy writers dream of hitting upon an idea that simply "writes itself". Sadly, such projects rarely exist; even ideas that seem to shimmer into being fully formed start throwing up problems and difficulties once you start committing them to the page. It's quite common to find yourself blazing through the first few scenes of a draft, or the opening third of a storyline, then suddenly run into challenges.
