Money Shot: television script fees

"Love of money is the root of all evil". We can get on board with that. Greed is never good. But we all need money to survive - and, hopefully, be comfortable - and writers, rightly, wish to be paid for their work.

We all know that a lot of work by comedy writers has to be done for free - particularly in the early stages of a career. Work is often only paid for when it is used. This is certainly frustrating, and arguably wrong - sadly, neither of those things stop it being reality.
