British Comedy Guide

The British Comedy Society

The British Comedy Society is dedicated to preserving and fostering the tradition of British comedy. Our official blue plaques can be spotted across the UK, and we organise awards and charitable fundraising events in honour of the greatest successes and practitioners of British comedy.

Established in 1990 as Dead Comics Society, we have raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity, enjoying support from comedy and celebrity icons including Ernie Wise, Sir Ken Dodd, Sir Roger Moore, Sir Bill Cotton, Sir Terry Wogan, Sir Norman Wisdom, Peter Rogers, Jack Douglas, Barry Cryer, and many more.
