About the sketches

On Monday 20th March, the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) presented their latest crucial report (The Synthesis Report of the 6th Assessment Cycle). It brings together the efforts of hundreds of scientists over the last nine years, represents the state of the art of climate science and knowledge, and contains evidence of the increasingly dire state of our climate.

However, it also inevitably overflows with scientific language that few will understand. And however clear its conclusions, it is still science and is therefore limited in how blunt it can be.

There is a need for much more direct and emotional language to explain the climate crisis in a way that people can actually process, and these Climate Science Translated aim to fill this gap.

Bill McGuire says: "We need to tackle the climate issue from every angle and comedy has a massive role to play, one of the problems for many people is they don't realise how bad things are and how bad they're going to get."
