Aardman Animations celebrates 40 years in Bristol

The creators of Wallace and Gromit, Morph and Shaun the Sheep are celebrating 40 years in the animation business..

Here's a treat: a compilation first shown in Christmas 2002, followed at 7.25pm by a rerun of The Wrong Trousers. Only 15 minutes long, Cracking Contraptions actually began life as a pictorial calendar. The inventions are all brilliantly funny, but top marks in the first full World Cup week must go to the Preston North End Soccamatic.
