Press

The best in homegrown humour, bar almost none, came to a wistful end. The third series of Daisy May Cooper and Charlie Cooper's This Country has delighted, angered, enthralled and baffled to an inordinate extent, and I'm heart-sorry to see it go. There's a Kurtan and a Kerry living on in every misbegotten, under-endowed Cotswold and Chiltern village, every village in Britain, with their tiny horizons and their big, confused hearts. To have identified that well-intentioned, dumb, thrawn, glorious strata of society is the legacy of the Cooper twins. Also, a beautiful final in-joke.

This Country, finale review: tearful farewell to a gem

So farewell to This Country (BBC Three), which bowed out after three perfect series.

Anita Singh, The Telegraph, 23rd March 2020

Farewell to This Country, a modern-day masterpiece

Like so many great British series, This Country is quitting while it's ahead - but Sean O'Grady hopes this is not truly the end of the road for the Mucklowes.

Sean O'Grady, The Independent, 23rd March 2020

This Country finale, BBC3, review

The sitcom was a warm, mocking look at a British village where the views are nice, but there's eff all to do.
