Graham Norton gets prime cuts, Jonathan Ross get scrag end

It looks like the old Jonathan Ross has gone forever. Maybe the Sachsgate scandal beat it out of him. Maybe he's grown lazy in his old age.

Ian Hyland, The Mirror, 7th May 2013

There's already been some positive early buzz about director JJ Abrams's massive, CGI-laden blockbuster Star Trek into Darkness (and particularly about its baddie, our own Benedict Cumberbatch), so Mr Spock himself, Zachary Quinto, and his co-star Zoe Saldana, who plays Uhura, will doubtless be warmly welcomed in the Ross studio.

Quinto is probably best known to television audiences as the wicked Sylar in Heroes, and latterly as a doctor in the brilliantly odd American Horror Story. Also on the show tonight are magicians from The Illusionists stage show, and music comes from Mr Radiohead himself, Thom Yorke.

Alison Graham, Radio Times, 4th May 2013

Wossy's production team have really come up with the goods tonight, netting five sparkling guests who, between them, should please almost every part of the audience. Top of the bill is Danny Boyle, whose direction of the Olympics opening ceremony last summer propelled him from well-regarded filmmaker to cut-and-dried national treasure overnight. He'll be talking about that experience, as well as his latest movie, Trance, and his recently revealed plans to make a sequel to Trainspotting within the next few years. Fans of the director should savour the moment, as Boyle hardly ever gives TV interviews.

Following him, Deadwood star Ian McShane and Skins alumnus Nicholas Hoult drop in to discuss their new film, Jack the Giant Slayer (not a remake of the 1962 film, but basically Jack and the Beanstalk reworked with Hollywood levels of blood, guts and brouhaha).

Last but not least, Blur frontman Damon Albarn and 69-year-old soul hero Bobby Womack are on hand with live music from The Bravest Man in the Universe - the wonderful, strikingly poignant album they made together last year.

Jonathan Ross blames Graham Norton for lack of guests

ITV chat show host Jonathan Ross has blamed his lack of star guests on BBC rival Graham Norton.

Daily Mail, 16th March 2013

Justin Timberlake, who has spent the past few years focusing on becoming an actor, is now back to his day job as a pop star. He has a new single out, Suit and Tie - the video for which is by The Social Network's David Fincher, who directed Timberlake in the 2010 movie. The singer will be talking to Jonathan Ross alongside Jason Manford, who is also featuring on Let's Dance.

Jonathan Ross: Jodie Marsh is bullying me

Jonathan Ross has banned Jodie Marsh from his show - claiming she was bullying him for a slot.

Laura Caroe, The Sun, 11th February 2013

Joining Jonathan Ross in the studio tonight are London-born actress Hayley Atwell, who was recently seen in William Boyd's superlative drama Restless and is starring in Monday's Black Mirror, and Hollywood actor John C Reilly, whose CV ranges from the harrowing We Need to Talk About Kevin to the farcical Talladega Nights: the Ballad of Ricky Bobby. Music comes from pop duo Hurts.

Ross & Brand reunited post Sachsgate was fun & fearless

Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand's first TV appearance since Sachsgate was fun, fearless, energetic and a little subversive - everything Saturday night TV should be, writes Katy Brand.

Katy Brand, The Telegraph, 4th February 2013

Russell Brand is so unpredictable, he's talk-show Semtex. Probably more famous for who he marries/divorces/dates than his movie career, he's on Ross's sofa tonight, with comedian and marathon man Eddie Izzard, who's starting a stand-up tour later this year, national treasure Sir David Attenborough, movie hulk Dolph Lundgren and, providing the music, those common people, Pulp.
