Since it was uploaded to YouTube on July 15 this year, Psy's video for his K-pop dance tune Gangnam Style has been viewed more than 620 million times - making it the second most-watched YouTube video ever. It has spawned countless spoofs, including ones featuring members of the US Naval Academy, Eton College and the Chinese dissident artist Ai Weiwei - all performing the now-famous dance. Tonight, Jonathan Ross welcomes Psy himself, who will explain his popularity, before performing his Korean-language hit. Damian Lewis, one of the stars of Homeland, also guests.

A decent, if male-heavy, line-up for Jonathan Ross tonight. The boisterous presenter is joined by comedian David Mitchell - plugging his forthcoming memoirs, while American stars Bradley Cooper (best known for his role in gross-out comedy The Hangover) and Aerosmith's Steven Tyler and Joe Perry also drop in. Scottish pop soul singer Emili Sandé provides the music.

When comedian, actor and author David Walliams was last on Ross's show earlier this year he was very funny; his incessant jibes nearly caused his Britain's Got Talent boss Simon Cowell to walk off set. But expect a more subdued Walliams here as he talks about his autobiography in which he admits that he has attempted suicide several times. I'm a Celebrity... winner turned TV presenter Stacey Solomon also guests and the music is by Ed Sheeran.

You can't go wrong with writer, tweeter and boulevardier Stephen Fry, he's the perfect chat show guest: witty, charming and impossible to faze. He has something to celebrate, too, a triumphant return to the theatre after that dark time in 1995 when, crippled by stage fright, he fled Simon Gray's West End production of Cell Mates. Fry is currently starring as Malvolio, opposite Mark Rylance, in the Globe theatre's production of Twelfth Night.

Sharing the limelight on the Ross couch tonight is dainty songstress Taylor Swift, who will doubtless be singing her new single, Begin Again, and who might even be persuaded to talk about her boyfriend Conor Kennedy of the US political clan.

There are no words to describe Dynamo, the street magician from Bradford. Just watch footage of him apparently walking across the Thames. It can't be possible. Yet there he is, making his way towards the Houses of Parliament, in front of hordes of onlookers. His show Magician Impossible is a hit for digital channel Watch so here's hoping the self-effacing Dynamo (aka Steven Frayne) makes the most of a terrestrial audience by having fun with Ross.

Also on the guest bill are comedian Jack Dee, back on the road after a six-year hiatus, and Harry Potter's Emily Watson. Gwen Stefani gets together with old mates No Doubt to provide the music.

If you had to decide which of Jonathan's guests tonight should be showered in glory for entertainment titanhood, much would depend on personal taste. Cheryl Cole is a fashion figurehead, proud guardian of regional accents and singer of countless hits, one of which she'll be performing tonight. Andrew Lloyd Webber is a composer of much-loved musicals, owner of six grand theatres and the perpetrator of TV casting shows like Superstar.

They both do charitable work and have carefully styled hair. Happily, Ross is the kind of chat show host who's got enough bonhomie for both Cheryl and Andrew to leave the sofa having been thoroughly coated.

Emma Sturgess, Radio Times, 8th September 2012

Doubtless the cheers of the studio audience will be as deafening as those from the thousands in the Olympic Stadium when national hero, all round good bloke and charity fundraiser Mo Farah joins Jonathan Ross. Farah passed into legend after those two brilliant, epic races where he won gold medals in the 10,000m and 5,000m. It seemed that the whole nation was on its feet as the shouts of "Come on, Mo!" ricocheted around living rooms across the land - before we all did the Mobot in triumph.

Another national treasure, Gareth Malone, is on the show to talk about plans to make The Choir for American television. The evening's music guest is Plan B.

Swerving onto Jonathan's sofa tonight is Formula One driver Jenson Button, who hasn't been having the best of seasons on the track. He may prefer not to dwell on his restaurant venture in Harrogate, either, which was forced to close recently due to poor business.

More cheerful, then, to discuss his love of triathlons - Button hosted his own recently as part of his fundraising efforts on behalf of Help for Heroes.

Also dropping by is Ray Winstone, whose macho remake of The Sweeney (he plays Jack Regan, of course) opens in cinemas soon. Best of all, the wonderful Suranne Jones talks about her role in Sky1's spoof cop drama A Touch of Cloth, which starts tomorrow at 9pm.

David Butcher, Radio Times, 25th August 2012

He may not be to everyone's taste but there's no doubting that Jonathan Ross can still attract the big names. Tonight, the ebullient chat show host is joined by tough-guy actor Ray Winstone, who discusses his new film The Sweeney. F1 driver Jenson Button and actress Suranne Jones - who stars in Charlie Brooker's spoof A Touch of Cloth, which starts on Sunday - are also in the studio. The music comes from R'n'B girl group Stooshe.
