Series 1, Episode 4 - Pig's Lib
The Goods are at it again, bartering their way through life. Tom swaps two fresh eggs for a magazine while Barbara manages to get the windows cleaned for free after a very unfortunate misunderstanding with the window cleaner.
The magazine Tom procures is called Pig Breeder. Much to the dismay of Margot two pigs soon join the growing Good family. She feels forced to 'take steps'. Enter Mr Carter, Margot's last hope of dealing with the swine.
Sadly for Margot, her plan rather backfires as Mr Carter can find no reason for their removal. However a compromise is struck; if the pigs cross the boundary from Good land to Leadbetter land they will be removed. Tom is confident that the pigs will not be able to construct a ladder in order to scale the fence but doesn't count on them digging under it. The pigs are boxed and disappear off towards a bleak future as Tom and Barbara look on in dismay.
Tom and Barbara take stock and accept that setbacks are inevitable. They toast the future with some peapod wine that certainly packs a punch. Margot joins them and does her best to apologise. The Goods get a small bit of retribution when they offer Margot some wine without giving her advance warning of the effects it has.
A guilt trip is laid on and Margot eventually yields and allows Tom and Barbara to have one more chance as long as Tom can save the two pigs in time. An emotional game of cards ensues between Barbara and Margot until Tom is heard returning. It appears Tom has saved Pinky and Perky's bacon, literally and figuratively...
