All that changed, however, when they took in Chris's best friend, newly single Gavin Rumsey (Lewis Collins). Having taken over the master bedroom and filled it with expensive furniture, flashy gadgets and a succession of decorative young temps, Gavin's flamboyant lifestyle has left the hard-up Hawthornes feeling distinctly squeezed out...
