Terri McIntyre (Simon Carlyle) used to be a dancer on a cruise liner before moving into the tanning industry. In Series 1 Terri was the proprietor of the tanning salon Fan of the Tan. In Series 2 the self-styled "classy bitch" has sold the salon to a big company. She is now working as a sales rep for tanning products company, Tannissimmo whose slogan is "United We Tan, Divided We Peel".

Her assistant Arlene (Helen Devon) is still at Fan of the Tan, though harbouring big ambitions. She'd like to take a course in piercing - but only the top half. Arlene is the only supporting character who survives from the first series of the show. Terri has a younger sister called Bernadette who is a top country and western star in The Gambia.
