Sitcom pilot described as 'a stupid narrative comedy set in a municipal library'. Originally piloted in 2006, a second pilot was filmed in October 2008.

The comedy is produced by Armando Iannucci and written by Morwenna Banks, Rebecca Front and Father Ted writer Arthur Mathews.

The original un-successful pilot for the show was recorded at BBC TV Centre in September 2006. It starred Morwenna Banks, Rebecca Front, and Simon Greenhall. The same cast returned for the 2008 pilot. Rebecca Front plays Alice, a hopelessly romantic misfit, and Morwenna Banks is Snoo, an indolent meddler working in the library that is perpetually threatened with closure. The pair are determined to prove to library inspector Raff, played by Ben Willbond, that they can attract new readers and raise enough funds to save their library. Meanwhile, Alice finally looks set to go on her dream date with Dean, the local porn-mag seller (played by Simon Greenall). The cast also includes Michael Fenton-Stevens and Alex Macqueen.

Note: The show became a Radio 4 series in 2015. Guide
