In Roy's science class, the teacher, Miss Sherringham, is reluctant to dissect two frogs and Sinead and Roy are also horrified by the prospect. Together, they confront headmaster Mr Hammond with a plea for the frogs' pardon, but to no avail. Mr Hammond offers to perform the procedure himself, but Roy has a cunning plan to save the frogs and impress Sinead.

Roy soon develops a nurturing bond with his new amphibious pals and, despite the growing pong emanating from his bedroom, is reluctant to release them back into the wild.
