Raised By Wolves review

Funny, graphic and a little bit brilliant in its portrayal of working class life.

Raised by Wolves: BBC One's loss is Channel 4's gain

There are times when we all need to eat humble pie and this is definitely one of them. After 2013's disappointing pilot I greeted the news that Caitlin and Caz Moran's sitcom Raised By Wolves was to be given a full series by Channel 4 with all the enthusiasm of Jeremy Clarkson being told the kitchen's closed. I was not hopeful. In fact I was downright cross. How wrong I was. The Moran sisters, alongside a storming cast, have created something brilliant.

Raised by Wolves review: 'refreshingly honest'

Although every one-liner was a zinger, the first episode didn't build much narrative tension with Della troubleshooting every problem within minutes. But I'd put money on Della's feckless father to generate more complex storylines in future.

Raised by Wolves review: BBC's loss is Channel 4's gain

This is a show with enough panache and come-and-have-a-go boldness that, for those on board, it could get away with nearly anything.

Raised by Wolves, Series One, Channel 4

For somebody who never seems to be short of things to say, journalist and author Caitlin Moran doesn't half like to repeat herself.

My date with Caitlin Moran on a coach around Wolves

Caitlin's main aim is to show us that Wolvo is not worthy of all the mocking it gets.

Kasia Delgado, Radio Times, 16th March 2015

TV review: Raised By Wolves was a bloody mess

Caitlin Moran says the BBC turned down Raised By Wolves (C4) because they already had a "female" sitcom lined up. Maybe. Or maybe they said 'no' it because it wasn't very good. After watching it twice I think the Beeb's decision had little to do with the show's vagina ratio.
