Brentford's best Grime music fantasists continued to gather round egotistical Grindah in this fifth and final series, the gap between their ideas about themselves and the reality of their lives as wide and as funny as ever. But the mockumentary continued to explore the emotional fragility and hopelessness of their situation with skill and sensitivity. It teemed with wonderful characters - whether it was poor Beats and his unrequited love for our star, or the fabulous chancer Chabuddy G. A film is now on the cards.

Ben Dowell, Radio Times, 26th December 2018

The flawless comedy says goodbye without excessive fanfare, although a farewell tour of Brentford landmarks brings out how deeply Beats loves his awful mentor, Grindah. Meanwhile, Asim Chaudhry shows why he is the breakout star of the series as Chabuddy G slides incompetently into the tech-repair business.

People Just Do Nothing: a beautiful final freestyle

This last episode was a lovely farewell to the emcees as Miche, Grindah and Angel left Brentford behind for a new life in Essex.

Sarah Hughes, i Newspaper, 17th December 2018

In a sublimely funny penultimate episode (a film is rumoured) it is MC Grindah's birthday. He is 33 ("but I look about 21") and Miche's idea of a sophisticated night out to celebrate makes him squirm (just like her present). Allan Mustafa and Steve Stamp's urban mockumentary must live on.

Mike Bradley, The Guardian, 10th December 2018

This week's dose of the brilliant and pathos-heavy mockumentary sees Hounslow's premier wheeler dealer, Chabuddy G - AKA Alan Brown Sugar - come unstuck when his latest scheme goes awry. Also flagging is Grindah, who is struggling mentally with the prospect of leaving Brentford.
