When Pat admits she has a crush on one Michael Vicks, Cabbage is delighted and hatches a plan to bring them together. An awkward encounter and the arrival of a mystery woman means that things do not turn out the way Pat had hoped.
Pat's daughter Helen decides to buy her sister Nicola a pet for company, but it is Helen's husband Jim who becomes most attached to it. Meanwhile, Helen thinks Cabbage is proving to be a bad influence on her mother.
