We live in a society governed by fear. Everyone is scared, scared of war, scared of disease, scared of terrorists. But what would it be like to literally be afraid of nothing? Would it be a help or a hindrance? Or both? No Fear explores that question, as we follow David Wendle, the safest man in Britain who is one day hit on the head by a huge ornamental Jesus and awakes two weeks later in hospital. The doctors tell him that he's had a lucky escape, there's only minimal brain damage. Turns out that the tiny piece of David's brain that no longer functions properly is the "amygdala", a primitive part of the brain that regulates fear. Suddenly, David's safe, ordered world is plunged into chaos as he discovers that his faulty amygdala shuts down completely whenever he's under stress, temporarily making him completely fearless as his alter ego "Brave Dave" appears and typically wreaks havoc...
