Channel 4 has made a double-series order commitment to comedy entertainment format The Lateish Show With Mo Gilligan.

The channel has ordered Series 3 and Series 4 of the show, following the success of the previous runs.

The network says: "Mo Gilligan was awarded a BAFTA in the Entertainment Performance category in 2021 for the series and is instrumental in the creative direction of the show which will return to Channel 4 later this year."

Mo Gilligan comments: "I'm absolutely thrilled that Channel 4 have given us such an incredible commissioning commitment. The whole team is very proud of Lateish and through this long-term partnership we'll continue to work hard to make the very best show we can, whilst also creating more opportunities behind camera for those from underrepresented groups."

Both the new series will comprise of 8 hour-long episodes, with production being overseen by Expectation and Gilligan's production company Momo G.

Gilligan will also extend his The Lateish Accelerator Programme in collaboration with Channel 4 and Expectation, providing paid production roles to drive forward the careers of talented individuals within the industry from underrepresented groups.

This two-series recommission cements our commitment to Mo and his place as a key Channel 4 talent."

Commissioner Tom Beck adds: "Mo is a creative force of nature and we're so pleased and proud to unleash him on Friday nights again. I can't wait to hear what he and the team have planned for the next two series."

Ben Wicks from Expectation notes: "Friday nights are only really Friday nights when they feature the joyous upbeat high energy of The Lateish Show With Mo Gilligan, so it's great news C4 have committed to a bumper order which will allow for even more ambitious editorial, especially with the show's mastermind Rhe-an Archibald stepping up to exec [executive producer]."

Series 3 of The Lateish Show With Mo Gilligan will launch on Channel 4 later this year.
