Frank Skinner is set to host a one-off comedy special for BBC Two which will explore and ridicule the 'comic goldmine' that is the topic of social class.

Class Dismissed, which is due to be recorded at BBC TV Centre this Friday, will also feature comedians Roisin Conaty, Miles Jupp and Micky Flanagan.

Producers say: "It's official - it's back: riots on the street, old-Etonians in Government, a workforce on strike, Downton Abbey, The King's Speech, Geordie Shore, the Royal Wedding, vajazzling... class is everywhere."

Skinner will host the comic discussion, with the comedians also presenting their own pre-prepared videos. 'Posh' comic and actor Miles Jupp will try to masquerade as a cockney; Micky Flanagan - who describes himself as 'socially mobile' - tries to appreciate the arty tastes of the middle classes; and lastly 'salt-of-the-earth' Roisin Conaty wonders if she could ever fall in love with a person from the upper classes, 'when some of them don't even understand the concept of a fish finger'.

Class Dismissed will be broadcast later in the autumn.
