ITV to launch John Bishop At The Weekend
- John Bishop is to launch a new show on ITV called John Bishop At The Weekend
- The weekly series will see the comedian "take a look back at the week's events in his own inimitable style"
- ITV says: "With his irrepressible wit, we can't wait to see what he and his star-studded guests make of each week"
ITV is to broadcast John Bishop At The Weekend, a new weekly topical comedy show which will see the stand-up take a look back at the week's events.
Talking about the format, ITV explains: "John will take a look back at the week's events in his own inimitable style. During the show - which will air weekly - he'll be joined by contributors and guests, some of whom may return, to dissect the news of the week in a light-hearted way."
ITV's Head of Entertainment Commissioning Katie Rawcliffe says: "We're thrilled to have John and his new show for ITV. With his irrepressible wit, we can't wait to see what he and his star-studded guests make of each week."
The series will be made by Lola Entertainment, Bishop's own production company.
The comedian - who has previously hosted series such as The John Bishop Show and John Bishop In Conversation With..., and acted as a presenter on ITV's The Nightly Show (pictured) - has recently been piloting various TV formats in an attempt to find his next TV vehicle.
John Bishop At The Weekend will launch on ITV in 2020. It is not currently clear whether it'll air on a Saturday or a Sunday.
