After a break of nearly two years, 8 Out Of 10 Cats is due to return to E4.

Series 21 of the long-running topical panel show will run for 10 weeks on the channel from later this month.

Jimmy Carr will host again, with Rob Beckett back as one of the team captains. The other team, which was previously helmed by Aisling Bea will be captained by a rotating team.

Bea will return in the guest captain role, but other captains lined-up for the series include Katherine Ryan, Sara Pascoe, Kerry Godliman, Tom Allen and Roisin Conaty.

Production company Zeppotron confirm: Joining the team captains each week will be a range of well-known celebrity faces, as well as fresh, up and coming comic talent."

"Viewers can expect the usual playful chat as the panellists chew over the country's most talked about topics and guess the results of a wide range of surveys and opinion polls."

8 Out Of 10 Cats launched on Channel 4 in 2005. In 2016 it moved to E4, with its newer sister show 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown remaining in Channel 4's prime-time slot. Series 20 of 8 Out Of 10 Cats was broadcast between May and July 2017.

Speaking about the new series, Jimmy Carr says: "I'm really excited that 8 Out Of 10 Cats is returning to E4. What Britain needs now more than ever, is a panel show about surveys and statistics. Well, that and six months' supply of food and medicine."

Rob Beckett adds: "I am absolutely buzzing that 8 Out Of 10 Cats is coming back. It's an honour and a privilege to be a part of a show that has become an institution of British comedy. This is my third series now and will hopefully be the one where my dad stops calling it 9 Out Of 10 Cats."

Karen Murdoch, Commissioning Editor at Channel 4, comments: "We're thrilled to be bringing back the fantastic 8 Out Of 10 Cats for E4. It is consistently one of the sharpest panel shows around, which showcases some of the newest and brightest comedy talents. We can't wait to work with the brilliant Jimmy Carr and Rob Beckett again."

Ruth Phillips, Zeppotron Joint Managing Director, says: "We couldn't be more excited to be bringing 8 Out Of 10 Cats back to E4. It's such an infectiously gleeful, upbeat show, that feels like a real tonic for these fractured times. We're also thrilled to have the opportunity to once again give a platform to some of the most exciting new comedy talent in the country."
