Miranda Hart's hit sitcom Miranda has been nominated for a BAFTA: the YouTube Audience Award 2011.

The BBC Two series has picked up numerous awards in the past 6 months, including the British Comedy Guide's own Comedy Of The Year award for 2010, and three British Comedy Awards: Best New British TV Comedy, and Best TV Comedy Actress & People's Choice Award For The King Or Queen Of Comedy for its writer, creator and star, Miranda Hart.

The BAFTA Audience Award is the only British Academy Television Award to be decided on by a public vote, and is sponsored by YouTube.

Miranda is the only comedy in the running for the prestigious gong, up against titles such as Sherlock, Big Fat Gypsy Weddings and Downton Abbey.

Voting takes place through commenting on the BAFTA YouTube Channel before noon on Friday 20th May. The ceremony will be held on Sunday 22nd May and broadcast on BBC One.
