Comedy Central has commissioned a new improvisation pilot, created by US Impractical Jokers star James 'Murr' Murray.

Say Whaaat? will be broadcast later this year, hosted by comic Jayde Adams.

She will be joined by Russell Kane and US comedy troupe The Tenderloins - who make up the US line-up of Impractical Jokers - to voice-over secretly recorded footage of the public in every-day conversations, under direction from a live studio audience.

The pilot is being produced by NorthSouth Productions, where Murray works as Senior Vice President of Development.

The Tenderloins' US original version of Impractical Jokers continues to be one of the channel's best performing programmes. It is a hidden camera improv format in which one member of the group is sent out to interact with members of the public in each of a series of rounds, under direction from the rest of the group via a hidden earpiece.

Comedy Central UK boss Louise Holmes says: "It was an obvious step for us to commission our own show for Comedy Central created by Murr. Improv is a really hot scene in the UK right now, so developing an improv format with stars of this calibre is an exciting step for the channel. It's part of our drive to explore more avenues to bring funny to our viewers as well as bring US and UK talent together."

The pilot will be filmed at London's Tabernacle Theatre on Wednesday 4th October (Tickets) and will be broadcast later this year.
