Comedy Central has announced a partnership with London's Soho Theatre which will see it broadcast stand-up shows filmed at the venue.

The network says: "A partnership with Soho Theatre will add diverse names and acts to the array of British talent on the channel."

Six shows will be broadcast on TV under the Soho Theatre Live title. Richard Gadd (pictured), whose show Monkey See Monkey Do won the 2016 Edinburgh Comedy Award, will be one of the comedians featured.

Whilst the full-line up has yet to be announced, it is also known that UK-based Canadian Mae Martin's show will also be part of the line-up presented on Soho Theatre Live.

Joel Dommett and Nish Kumar, who it was announced today will also present a new travel series and a studio pilot for Comedy Central (news), will be involved too.

The channel confirms: "Following a first of a kind partnership with Soho Theatre, Comedy Central has acquired six episodes of stand-up performances taped live at London's most vibrant venue for new theatre."

Brad Wood from Comedy Central says: "Our partnership with Soho Theatre really demonstrates our commitment and passion for stand-up comedy and allows us to bring new and diverse voices to our viewers."

Soho Theatre Live will be broadcast on Comedy Central this summer. The channel is also separately filming another series of Stand Up Central to be broadcast later this year.
