  • The comedian explains: "You have to ride for eight hours a day for six days on a bike with no seat"
  • The results will be shown on channel Dave in a three part series called Ross Noble: All Torque

Channel Dave has ordered Ross Noble: All Torque, a series which will follow Ross Noble as he takes part in the Scottish Six Days Trial motorbike event.

The three hour-long episodes will observe as Noble takes part in the "legendary challenge where the best motorbike riders in the world come together to race a hundred miles each day in a true test of stamina, ability and willpower."

The channel explains "It's a race that's defeated countless seasoned professionals who've been riding all their life, and certainly isn't for the faint-hearted - or foolhardy comedians. Training during every second of spare time and helped along the way by his coach James Burroughs, can Noble conquer one of the toughest sporting challenges known to man?"

Filming on the show is already underway. Noble posted on Twitter this morning: "My Twitter silence for the last few days is because I am in the highlands of Scotland, the result of which will be a TV show."

This will be Noble's second show for Dave involving a motorbike. He previously presented Ross Noble Freewheeling, an improvised comedy series in which he travelled around the country on a motorbike.

Commissioner Iain Coyle says: "We're absolutely delighted to work with Ross again. He's a fantastic bloke, a unique talent and, it turns out, pretty hardcore on two wheels."

Speaking about what he is facing, Ross Noble comments: "This is one of the most technically difficult motorcycle challenges in the world - you have to ride for eight hours a day for six days on a bike with no seat. But as I do stand-up as a job I'm hoping that will help!"

Steve North, Dave's general manager, says: "Ross is a talent we all love here at Dave, and it's hugely exciting to be working with the award-winning team at Grain Media. The combination of comedy, motorsport and endurance will be a gripping and entertaining take on such an awesome challenge."

Alex Moore, the CEO at production company Grain Media, adds: "This project marks our first collaboration with UKTV and the brilliant Ross Noble, so we're thrilled to be at the helm. There's no denying that capturing an event of this scale at over a hundred miles a day, across the most difficult terrain imaginable, and all alongside the best and worst weather the Highlands of Scotland can throw at us, makes it a fair old production challenge. And that's not to mention Ross's frankly unhinged training plan. So all in, it's going to be quite the ride, but one we wouldn't miss for the world"

Ross Noble: All Torque will be shown on Dave later this year.
