Jimmy Carr is to judge disputes between real people in a new Channel 4 pilot.

Judge Jimmy will see the comedian "holding court and delivering his own brand of justice on genuine disputes between real people who have agreed to bow down and abide by the final ruling."

The format, which sounds similar in premise to hit American format Judge Judy and ITV's daytime show Judge Rinder, is described by producers as a "comedy entertainment show".

The programme is being devised by Hungy Bear Media, the production company that also makes Michael McIntyre's Big Show.

A casting call for Judge Jimmy gives an idea of the kinds of the problems the comedian may be tackling. It says: "Have you paid for something you're unhappy with? Are you a victim of pet taxidermy gone wrong, a cake decoration disaster or a botched makeover? Are you caught in the middle of a feud with someone? Did you Dad spend you student loan on a new head of hair or has your neighbour abducted your cat?"

It continues with more examples: "Have you been treated unfairly? Has your local karaoke night banned you from performing, or is your agent not getting you enough work as an Adele lookalike? No case is too tough, small or bizarre for Jimmy's justice."

If you are aged 18 or over and want to be considered for the show, you should email judgejimmycasting@hungrybear.tv or call 0203 841 5934 before the 9th December.

A pilot will be recorded across two sessions at Bethnal Green Town Hall on Wednesday 14th December. Tickets

It is believed the trial run of the show is not-for-broadcast but will be used by Channel 4 to decide whether to order a series.

It is a busy time for Jimmy Carr. As well as continuing to tour his live show, and host 8 Out Of 10 Cats and 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown, he is also recording The Big Fat Quiz Of The Year and, as recently reported, reviving 2002 comedy game show format Your Face Or Mine for Comedy Central.
