The BBC is piloting a new entertainment show called All Round To Mrs Brown's, starring the cast of Mrs. Brown's Boys.

The format, which will be recorded in front of a live audience, sees "the UK's favourite sitcom family opening the door to their home and inviting us in for a jam-packed night of entertainment".

Producers explain: "In this brand new show for the BBC, Agnes and the family will be providing a star-studded line up, fun-fuelled items and surprises you won't want to miss, including the chance to reward a very special Mammy."

A pilot episode, not intended for broadcast, is due to be recorded soon.

News of the new show has been revealed as the BBC has put out a call for people to take part in the show. Producers are looking for people to nominate their mothers for a surprise as part of the programme.

They say: "Is your mum a Mrs Brown's Boys fan, who deserves to be treated? A mum who should be awarded just for being her? We're looking for people to secretly nominate mums across the UK to win the coveted 'Mammy Award'. Sure, she might burn every Sunday Roast you've ever had, or is always running late, or sends you texts ALL IN CAPS! But she keeps the family together and the show on the road - whatever the reason, we want to know why your Mammy deserves this special award."

All Round To Mrs Brown's is being developed by Hungry Bear Media, the production company behind Michael McIntyre's Big Show, in conjunction with BocPix, the production company owned by character creator Brendan O'Carroll.

News on whether a series will be ordered is expected next year. Mrs Brown's Boys was recently voted the best sitcom since 2000. The show, which picked up over 8 million viewers for a live special during the summer, is due to return this Christmas for another two festive episodes.
