BBC Two has commissioned new episodes of Jack Dee's HelpDesk to coincide with the EU Referendum.

Three episodes of Jack Dee's Referendum HelpDesk will be shown on BBC Two in the weeks leading up to the EU Referendum, which is due to take place on the 23rd June.

Jack Dee's HelpDesk, which is based on the live show format the comedian developed, sees Dee turn agony uncle, helping a live studio audience dispel their problems, and aims to shed light on their dilemmas and issues relating to this historic event in British politics.

In each episode Dee is accompanied by a panel of four special comedic guests. Nothing is written or prepared and the panel don't know what the questions from the audience will be until the show begins.

This will be the second TV series from Jack Dee's HelpDesk. The first, which aired in April 2015, was focused around that year's General Election and gained an average audience of just over 1 million viewers each week.

Speaking about returning for a second series, Jack Dee says: "I'm really looking forward to bringing HelpDesk back to BBC Two, so come to me if you have questions about anything from bendy bananas to fraudulent car exhaust claims and much much more. We all know it all depends on how far the England team get in the Euro 2016 football championship anyway."

BBC Entertainment commissioner Alan Tyler adds: "Jack Dee's Election HelpDesk proved to be a real treat for our audiences and we are delighted to have him back in the schedule once again bringing the truly important issues to the fore."

Jack Dee's Referendum HelpDesk will air on BBC Two from early June.
