BBC Two has ordered a second series of Insert Name Here, its new panel show format.

The network confirms: "BBC Two will welcome back a second series of comedy panel show Insert Name Here with Sue Perkins, Richard Osman and Josh Widdicombe."

Each episode of the show is built around one particular name and the numerous people, past and present, that have shared it. The names discussed in Series 1 were 'Frank', 'William', 'Kate', 'Jo', 'Dave' and 'Chris'.

The six new episodes have been ordered from production companies 12 Yard and Black Dog Television following a successful series earlier this year. Broadcast in January and February, the series averaged an audience of one million viewers per episode, up on the slot average of 800,000.

Talking about the recommission, Sue Perkins says: "I'm absolutely delighted to be back with Richard and Josh - it's fast, funny and fiercely competitive, and all without the use of meldonium."

The BBC's Alan Tyler comments: "Sue, Richard and Josh are three names we are thrilled to be bringing to our audiences in a second series of Insert Name Here. The first run brilliantly married humour and insight, and I'm looking forward to more of the same, with some inventive new twists, in this series."

Andy Culpin from co-producers 12 Yard adds: "We are delighted to be working with such talented people as Sue, Richard and Josh once again, and building on what was a hugely entertaining first series."

Series 2 of Insert Name Here is expected to be broadcast on BBC Two in the autumn.
