Stand-up comedian Jason Manford will front a new comedy game show for ITV.

Bring Me Sunshine will see couples "fighting to win their dream holiday" as they "test their general knowledge, memory and how well they actually know each other".

A pilot for the new format will be recorded this Friday at Elstree Film & TV Studios. To apply to be in the audience see our free tickets page

If commissioned, a series could be on air early in 2015 and would cement the comedian's prime-time television comeback.

It would also see Manford becoming somewhat of an ITV name. He hosted the most recently broadcast episode of ITV's revived variety series, Sunday Night At The Palladium, and has in the past fronted the comedy-centric variety series Comedy Rocks for the station.

Manford also hosted ITV's 2011 stand-up talent series Show Me The Funny, and has presented the A Funny Old Year satirical round-ups of both 2012 and 2013 for the network.

November will see the release of Jason Manford's third live stand-up DVD, First World Problems, which continues to tour until Christmas, having been first performed in June 2013.

Meanwhile, Jason Manford and his brother, Colin, who is also a stand-up comedian, are continuing to expand their national network of Manford's Comedy Clubs.

It was also announced by BBC One today that Manford will star in its new "thrilling and darkly humorous drama" Ordinary Lies. Set in a car showroom, it will explore "how a simple lie can spiral out of control and change a life forever".
