Miranda Hart, who has risen to nationwide fame thanks to the success of her BBC sitcom Miranda, has announced she is to undertake a nationwide tour in 2014.

The comedian performed sketches and stand-up on the live circuit before the success of her TV series, and this is the comedy format she will return to for My, What I Call, Live Show, albeit in larger venues. Hart will perform 13 arena dates, including at London's O2.

She posted on Twitter yesterday: "Call me a tease but: am doing One Show tonight and I will be revealing something big. (Not my breasts)." She then told presenters Matt Baker and Alex Jones on the programme: "I'm quite excited and nervous, but I've decided - and it's all organised - I'm going to do a stand-up tour. It starts on the 28th February 2014, so in a year." She then added "Please come and see me!"

Details were also posted on the comedian's website, but it soon crashed. Now online again, the tour is billed as follows: "The award winning Queen of Comedy is on stage doing stand-up for the first time since her hit series Miranda aired on the BBC. Grab a chance to see Miranda's laugh out loud genius live. She wants you to join her party. Expect galloping, attempts at song and dance, and simply - such fun!"

Miranda Hart's new book - Is It Just Me? - is currently the second best selling book on Amazon ahead of Christmas.

The third series of Miranda starts on Boxing Day, and Hart will also appear in hit drama Call The Midwife on Christmas Day. The star told The One Show that she wouldn't be watching herself on screen, but "it's a real privilege to be on telly at Christmas, it's sort of a dream come true".

Below is the trailer for the Christmas-themed first episode of the series. See our guide (link below) for more information, including interviews with the cast.
