My Old Man trivia

During Series 1, the character Willy was named as 'Willie' in the credits - however in both the pilot and throughout Series 2, he was credited as Willy.

Priscilla Morgan (Doris) and Clive Dunn (Sam) were real-life family: but rather than father and daughter, they were husband and wife - she 14 years his junior.

Originating as a BBC Two pilot starring Ronnie Barker (broadcast in April 1973 as part of the 7 Of 1 series), creator and writer Gerald Frow felt he had a winning format so took the show to Yorkshire Television when the BBC declined to commission a series.
