Pilot - We Are Mongrels

A pilot episode was made for BBC Three which has not be been broadcast does appear as an extra on the Mongrels Series One DVD. The pilot features a very different looking Destiny, Kali and Marion; a less foul-mouthed Vince; and a sixth character - Debbie the suicidal chicken. In the pilot, Destiny gives birth to a litter of ugly puppies.

Further details

In the unbroadcast pilot, Destiny gives birth to a little of puppies, but they are not exactly the prettiest bunch of dogs in the world. Despite this, Nelson feels that if he can be a good father-figure he can win Destiny's heart. Destiny would rather have them out of her life.

Meanwhile, an old friend from the past, "proper" fox Vince, appears again in Nelson's life. Vince fancies a boys night out involving sex and maybe eating someone. Nelson suggests Mamma Mia!.

Vince tries to make Nelson behave more like a fox by making him cast aside Marion. Marion meanwhile has bigger problems when his owners take him away to be neutered - by Chico.

Song: He Wants His Balls Back - Sung by Marion and Kali.
