Joan And Leslie trivia

The show was so successful that the starring couple were signed up to appear in washing-powder adverts for television. The series, The Randalls And Fairy Snow, lasted almost 10 years, running the length of the 1960s.

Premiering under the title Leslie Randall Entertains, the series changed its name to Joan And Leslie on the 15th episode of Series 1, broadcast on 8th April 1956.

In 1969, more than 10 years after the series finished on ATV, Joan And Leslie was adapted for Australian audiences. Unlike most other programmes to have transferred Down Under, the original had not been broadcast there beforehand: the commissioning channel, Seven Network, simply liked the premise. The series followed Leslie's journalistic efforts in Melbourne. Sadly it was not a success, and after just 13 of 26 episodes had been produced, the show was cancelled.
