A third dose of Him & Her

What's interesting from the first episode is how much of the rest of the block you see, including a very awkward conversation between Steve and his neighbour, who we later see having a conversation with the lady downstairs about the state of Becky and Steve's flat.

As a bunch of writers who spend most of our time drooling in front of the telly, it should come as no surprise that we identify greatly with Russell Tovey and Sarah Solemani's slovenly lovers. For once, though, the crude couple may have something to get excited about, as Steve prepares to ask Becky for her hand in marriage. Now all he needs is the perfect moment to pop the question... shame Becky's currently nursing the world's worst hangover.

Russell Tovey: third series of Him & Her is phenomenal

The star of Being Human and History Boys will return to BBC3 next month - and he's excited about the upcoming episodes...

Ellie Walker-Arnott, Radio Times, 23rd October 2012

After yet more arguments, mess, and a lot of crisp eating, the second series of BBC3's most successful sitcom comes to a grubby end with Steve (Russell Tovey) called upon to help his ex-girfriend Julie look for her missing brother. In doing so, a perturbed Becky unearths a secret about Steve's past - setting things up splendidly for the just-commissioned third series. Hurrah!

Sharon Lougher, Metro, 13th December 2011

This strange and generally wonderful series takes a slight misstep in the final episode of its run, in the form of Dan's girlfriend Anita, a thoroughly obnoxious (but more scripted than fully realised) character. Still, the torments to which she subjects Steve and Becky's neighbour make for some very funny and moving scenes. Dan's small talk with Shelly - "How have you been?" "You know." "Yeah." - sighs volumes of enduring melancholy. As for the couple themselves, their stoical cheer and happiness in each other's company, despite frequent outsider intrusions on their lovenest, is put to the test by a calculatedly offhand remark by Steve's ex.
